The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released September 2019 Producer Price Indexes (PPI) today. The All commodities index declined by 0.6% over the last month & has decreased by 2.7% over the last year on a seasonally unadjusted basis. Meats increased by .3% from August to September ’19 and rose by 6.7% from September ’18 – ’19. Nonferrous metal ores increased by 2.1% from August- September 2019 and rose by 21.6% from September ’18 – ’19. Lighting fixtures rose by .2% over the last month and increased by 5.4% over the last year. Tractors and attachments rose 1.4% over the last month and 8.4% over the last year. Plumbing fixture fittings and trim rose by 0.6% between August – September 2019 and increased by 5.4% between September ’18 – ’19.
