The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released September 19 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The all items category increased 0.1% over the last month & rose 1.7% over the last year while All items less food and energy increased 0.1% between August – September ’19 and rose 2.4% between September ’18 – ’19. Tobacco and smoking products increased 0.4% over the last month & has risen 5.9% over the last year. Living room, kitchen & dining room furniture increased 1.4% between August & September ’19 & has risen 4.1% between September ’18 – ’19. Outdoor equipment & supplies rose 0.5% over the last month & has risen 3.4% over the last year. Sports vehicles including bicycles increased 3% between August – September ’19 & has risen 5.8% between September ’18 – ’19. Tires rose 0.8% over the last month & increased 3.1% over the last year. Household paper products increased 0.5% between August – September ’19 & has risen 3.1% between September ’18 – ’19. All inflation rates mentioned within are seasonally unadjusted.
