The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released October 2020 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The all items index maintained the last month and saw a 1.2% increase in the last twelve months. Carbonated drinks increased by 1.0% in the last month and rose by 7.9% in the last twelve months. Sugar and sugar substitutes increased 1.4% between September – October 2020 and increased 7.0% from October 2019. Meats rose by 0.3% since September 2020 and increased 6.6% between October 2019 – October 2020. Frozen fruits and vegetables increased 0.2% in the last month and increased 5.8% in the last twelve months. Household cleaning products saw a rise of 0.5% between September – October 2020 and an increase of 5.2% October 2019 – October 2020. Appliances increased 0.3% in the last month and saw an increase of 4.8% in the last twelve months. Fresh vegetables rose by 1.1% from September 2020 and rose by 4.2% since October 2019. Food at home saw a rise of 0.2% in the last month and increased 4.0% in the last twelve months. Food increased 0.2% since September 2020 and saw an increase of 3.9% from October 2019. Recreational books increased 2.2% in the last month and rose 3.6% in the last twelve months.
