The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released June 2020 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The All Commodities index saw a 0.5% increase over the last month & has increased 0.6% over the last 12 months on a seasonally unadjusted basis. All items less food and energy increased 0.2% from May – June 2020 & rose 1.2% between June 2019 to June 2020. Commodities less food and energy commodities was unchanged the last month and saw a 1.1% decrease from June ’19 – June ’20. Food increased 0.5% over the last month & rose 4.5% over the last 12 months. Meats, poultry and fish rose 2.5% between May and June 2020 & and increased by 12.9% between June ’19 – ’20. Meats rose by 4.1% in the last month and rose 16.7% in the last twelve months. Nonalcoholic beverages and beverage materials increased 0.5% from May 2020 and increased 5.3% between June 2019 – June 2020. Juices and nonalcoholic drinks increased by 0.5% in the last thirty days and saw an increase of 6.8% in the last twelve months. Beef and veal rose 5.5% from May 2020 and increased by 25.1% from June 2019. Fresh vegetables saw an increase of 0.8% from May 2020 and increased 4.9% from June 2019. Snacks rose by 2.1% in the last thirty days and increased 4.6% in the last twelve months. Processed fruits and vegetables went up by 0.5% since May 2020 and saw an increase of 4.2% from June 2019. Carbonated drinks rose by 1.7% in the last thirty days and saw an increase of 8.7% in the last twelve months. Frozen fruits and vegetables had an increase of 0.5% in the last month and an increase of 4.8% in the last year. Household paper products increased by 0.2% from May 2020 and had an increase of 5.5% from June 2019. Recreational reading material increased 1.7% in the last month and increased 5.9% in the last twelve months. Cigarettes had a 1% increase from May 2020 and an increase of 5.6% from June 2019.
