The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released February 2020 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The All commodities index increased by 0.3% over the last month & has increased 2.3% over the last year on a seasonally unadjusted basis. All items less food and energy increased by 0.5% between January 2020 – February 2020 & rose 2.4% between February ’19 – February 2020. Commodities less food and energy commodities maintained the same from February of 2019 to February 2020 and increased 0.7% in the last month. Photographic equipment and supplies increased 4.9% over the last month & rose 9.6% over the last year. Cheese and related products rose 1.1% between January and February 2020 & and increased by 5.3% between February ’19 – February 2020. Music instruments and accessories increased by 1% from January to February and rose by 4.6% from February ’19 to February 2020. Dairy & related products increased by 0.6% from January – February 2020 and rose by 3.6% from February ’19 to February 2020. Sugar and sugar substitutes rose by 0.5% over the last month and increased by 5% over the last year.
