The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released February 2019 Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) today. The all items category increased 0.4% over the last month & rose1.5% over the last year while All items less food and energy increased 0.4% between January – February ’19 & rose 2.1% over the last year. Juices and nonalcoholic drinks increased 0.9% over the last month & rose 4.1% over the last year. Furniture and bedding increased 0.8% from January – February ’19 & rose 2.4% over the last twelve months. Oher appliances rose 0.4% over the last month & increased 4.4% over the last year. Nonalcoholic beverages and beverage materials increased 0.7% between January – February ’19 & rose 2.8% over the last twelve months. Canned fruits and vegetables rose 2.6% over the last month & increased 3.9% over the last year. Food increased 0.3% between January – February ’19 & rose 2.0% over the last twelve months. Living room, kitchen & dining room furniture rose 0.6% over the last month & increased 3.4% over the last year. Women’s outerwear increased 2.4% between January – February ’19 & rose 6.7% over the last twelve months.(all inflation rates are calculated with seasonally unadjusted indexes).
